The Zimbabwean electricity company ZESA is set to import electricity from the private Lunsemfwa Hydro Power Company (LHPC) Limited in Zambia: “Zimbabwe will import an initial 56 MW from Lunsenfwa as of 1 August 2016, but will add 20 MW until it ramps up to 100MW,” ZESA Spokesman Fullard Gwasira told News Day of Zimbabwe. LHPC operates two hydropower plants with a total installed capacity of 56 MW, but it has a strategic plan to increase the capacity to 500 MW by 2020. LHPC is a subsidiary of Agua Imara, a subsidiary of SN Power Group of Norway.
