The opposition UPND party’s MPs walked out of parliament in protest against Speaker Patrick Matibini censoring UPND Mazabuka MP Garry Nkombo. Nkombo was querying Housing and Infrastructure Minister Ronald Chitotela’s claim that it had not been proven that there was corruption in the road sector by reminding him that President Lungu had earlier hinted at dismissing corrupt ministers. However, Matibini advised Nkombo not to involve Lungu in a matter in parliament, thus forcing Nkombo to withdraw his question, after which the MPs marched out.
