The City of Hope in Makeni, Lusaka, was established in 1995 by the Salesian Sisters with the aim of serving the poorest of the poor. The women’s religious congregation runs an open community school for 800 children, including orphans, street children, abused children, victims of child trafficking and refugees. City of Hope is also the home of more than 30 girls referred by Social Welfare, police or other institutions, and offers vocational training at its Auxilium Skills Training Centre. You can volunteer or donate. More information here.
