… and lands UPND MP in trouble
President Lungu has launched the 2016/17 farming season at an event at Zambeef’s Huntley Farm in Chibombo District, demonstrating his skills with both a tractor and a hoe.
At his side was seen UPND Keembe MP Princess Kasune Zulu, who immediately denied online reports that she was about to defect to the ruling PF party, explaining that she had simply accepted the invitation from the Zambia National Farmers’ Union, pointing out that Keembe Constituency is in Chibombo District. She also explained that her sitting next to Lungu was “purely a case of paying courtesy arising from me being invited to the seat”.
The UPND did, however, find it necessary to ban all its MPs and councillors from attending state functions until all election petitions have been decided by the courts.
