President Lungu has announced that the mandate of the Food Reserves Agency (FRA) is about to change from buying maize for national reserves to doing so on behalf of other countries: “We are going to change the law to let enable the FRA be a procuring agency on behalf of people from outside country, who want to buy maize from us by paying upfront, so that FRA can come and pay you cash,” he told farmers at a public rally in Isoka.
