PF’s Alfredah Kansembe has filed the first petition of an MP election on 11 August, even though the Electoral Commission of Zambia has yet to release the official overview of the newly elected MPs. Kansembe has petitioned the election of independent candidate Mwenya Munkonge for Lukashya Constituency in Kasama District, Northern Province, alleging electoral malpractices. Kansembe, who is the immediate past MP in Lukashya and former PF deputy labour minister, got 7,936 votes, while Munkonge got 11,870 votes.
